My interest in playing music started in 1982, but really accelerated in 1984 when I joined my friends Eric and Rob to perform in local bands.  In 1995, I got together with Stu and his brother Sean to play original and classic rock songs in Stu’s garage.  Focusing on vocal harmonies and developing a play list helped ease the decision and, after a short time, “Airbourne” was created.

AIRBOURNE years

During six years with “Airbourne”, we played classic rock in venues all around central New York.  First as a three piece acoustic group, many personnel changes evolved over time.  Drummers and guitarists were added over the years and acoustic was changed to electric, except for Stu’s 12-string.  The band expanded to five with Stu and Jeannie providing lead vocals, Ted on guitar and Scotty B. on drums.

DIGG years

By 2001, my musical interest had changed to modern rock.  Joining with friends Eric and Scotty B, we formed “Digg” and created one of the area’s premier modern rock band that included a major stage production.  After a few years of amped up, rocked out shows, I needed a break.  I just needed to follow a different path…

Copperwheat project

That path lead to “The Call” from Stu who wanted to complete a dream he has had for way too many years.  This “musical adventure” he was developing would include Dave and me, along with Ken and Russ, and became the start of “Copperwheat – acoustic roots”.  Thanks for the call Uncle Stu!

Dedication

To my wife, thanks for putting up with me all these years and for your patience during band practice in the basement.  To my daughter “K”, rock on princess.  To my daughter “k”, love you, bug.  To my Dad, never could have done it all without your dedication and many hours of booking gigs, your roadie skills, and your never-ending support.
